November 2008

I became seriously interested in Yoga in 1994.  I started practicing Yoga to overcome low back pain and problems.  I couldn't bend over the sink to brush my teeth let alone reach my feet to put socks on.  Through my Yoga practice I can honestly say that today I am more flexible than I have ever been and enjoy waking up without back pain.  Subsequently, since 1999 I began studying various Yoga teachings/techniques including Hot Yoga, Power Yoga, Hatha Yoga and Iyengar.

As an added benefit, since I have begun a regular practice I find that I am able to handle life's stresses with more patience and better perspective.  I have become more accepting of where I am at in various areas in my life.  My Yoga practice has brought me into greater alignment with my mind, body and soul.

Hooked on Yoga, I decided I wanted to share my love of the art and began teaching in 2003.  I continue to expand my horizons, knowledge and techniques by attending classes, keeping abreast of trends, taking courses whenever possible.  Learning never ends, just like there is no end to a pose.  Over the past couple of years I have expanded my teaching and have integrated Pilates.  Pilates and Yoga compliment each other.  Pilates focuses on core strength, and with a strong core Yoga poses can be held much longer and stronger.

I teach various classes including Hot Yoga, Power Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, Gentle Yoga, Yoga with weights and a combined Yoga/Pilates class.  I take my Yoga seriously but do enjoy having fun with it and try to design each class according to the audience and their needs.

I am eternally thankful that Yoga has come into my life.  I have met some fantastic people, have built wonderful friendships and have witnessed the wonderful healing Yoga has had on many people.

I am grateful and blessed to able to share Yoga with all who come.    Namaste
